Joëlle Brumagne, office manager at Thalys, explains how the convenience of Regus meeting rooms makes them an ideal choice for her organisation
With Regus locations at almost every major European railway station, Thalys – the international high-speed train operator – often turns to the flexible workspace provider when it requires a meeting room.
Thalys serves 26 destinations across Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Germany, and the business has almost 600 employees. Though head office is in Brussels, meeting rooms across the rail network are a requisite.
“We almost exclusively use locations close to train stations where Thalys stops, mostly in Brussels and Paris where we organise important meetings, such as with the board of directors,” says Joëlle Brumagne, office manager and PA to the CEO at Thalys.
Brumagne is based in the Thalys head office on the Place Marcel Broodthaers, just a stone’s throw from both the Regus Brussels South Station and Regus Brussels Zuid-Midi Railway Station offices – both of which Thalys utilises. Likewise, the company often holds meetings in the Regus Paris Gare du Nord location in the French capital.
Brumagne adds that the size of the meeting rooms – which can accommodate 21-plus people – works well for Thalys. “As we only have two large meeting rooms in our office, Regus helps us in organising meetings with many participants,” she says.
Whether hosting a presentation, interview, client pitch or a training session, businesses can specify their preferred room configuration and office support staff are on hand to assist, and meeting rooms are always clean and set up ready to use. Rooms are also equipped with high-speed internet and Wi-Fi, as well as phone equipment, flipchart, white board and markers if needed. AV screens and projectors are available on request.
Feeling peckish? Catering can be organised, too, as well as that all-important coffee and tea service so attendees can get their caffeine fix. “We rent large meeting rooms sometimes with other facilities such as office supplies and catering,” says Brumagne. Staff are also on hand via phone or email to support queries regarding the room, and in situ to greet and support meeting attendees.
It is this personal touch that Thalys appreciates. Brumagne highlights Regus’s responsiveness to the company’s requests and the role of meeting room manager Regus Belgium, Bill Williams, as being of particular value.
All meeting rooms, conference rooms and boardrooms – all available by the hour – can be booked quickly and simply using the Regus App (a 10% discount is available if you book this way).
But what about the 7.5 million passengers who use Thalys’ trains every year? With 50% of those on board travelling for business, the flexible office station locations are advantageous to them, too.
Whether you’re an international business traveller or working for a major European rail company, you can step off the train and straight into a meeting.
